Dr. Livia Derdova OD MPH

Dr. Livia Derdova is a certified optometric physician who earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree from Montclair State University. She graduated from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, with a Master’s Degree in Public Health. Dr. Derdova completed her externship in primary care optometry and ocular disease. She graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree from MCPHS University in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Livia has worked in the field of optometry and ophthalmology since 2006.

She has worked for several ophthalmology and optometry practices in Northern New Jersey where she fell in love with her profession. Dr. Derdova is very passionate about educating her patients about eye health. In addition, she was chosen to present her ocular disease research at the annual American Optometric Association meeting. Dr. Derdova takes extreme pleasure in diagnosing and treating her patients’ visual problems.

She has a passion for ocular disease and practices full scope primary eye care. This includes annual wellness and comprehensive eye exams consisting of contact lens exams and the management of ocular conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, post-operative cataract care and ocular emergencies. She also co-manages refractive surgery (LASIK/PRK).

She takes special interest in dry eye issues and ocular allergy treatments. Through dry eye disease alone, she has diagnosed many patients with autoimmune disease and made the appropriate referrals. Dr. Derdova is fluent in five languages including Hungarian, Slovak, Polish, Czech and English. She is currently accepting new patients and cannot wait to put her passion for helping others into practice.

Dr. Livia currently lives in Shrewsbury and enjoys all aspects of living near the Jersey Shore. In her free time she enjoys spending time at the beach, golfing, hiking. She enjoys talking to her patients about her travels around the world. Her favorite destinations were Italy, France and Greece so far.

Dr. Christina Marzelli, O. D.

Dr. Christina Marzelli is a board certified and residency trained optometric physician. She began her journey in healthcare by earning an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from Stockton University in Galloway, NJ. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York, College of Optometry. At SUNY College of Optometry, Dr. Marzelli completed externship rotations at OMNI Eye Services in Iselin, NJ, Lawton Indian Hospital in Lawton, OK, SUNY University Eye Center in NYC, NY and Keller Army Community Hospital in West Point, NY. After graduation, Dr. Marzelli completed residency training at the VA New Jersey Health Care System in East Orange, NJ specializing in ocular disease and low vision rehabilitation. She is board certified by the American Board of Optometry and is a proud member of both the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Marzelli is committed to providing personalized, high-quality eye care to allow her patients to live their happiest and healthiest lives. She performs comprehensive eye examinations and contact lens fittings, including speciality fittings. She also treats and manages a wide variety of ocular diseases, such as dry eye, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and ocular emergencies.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Marzelli loves to spend time on the water, whether it be at the pool or at the beautiful Jersey Shore beaches. She also enjoys going to concerts with her family and friends.
